Across from the beach in Oceanside
South Pacific Street runs along a quieter stretch of Oceanside's beachfront. A public beach path is a minute away across the street, the Strand starts a few minutes north at Wisconsin Avenue and runs up to the famous pier, and South Oceanside's cafés and surf shops are about a 20-minute walk south along Coast Highway.
The condo was completely remodeled in 2025. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath home of about 1,000 square feet, with gated street-level parking for two oversized vehicles, side by side, plus dedicated storage for boards, bikes and beach gear.

Within Walking Distance
The neighborhood on foot
The sand is across the street, and Wisconsin Market & Spirits is at the end of the block. Coffee, tacos and craft beer are 6 to 12 minutes away around Wisconsin Avenue and Coast Highway.
The beach
A public beach path across the street puts you on the sand in a minute. It's a quiet stretch, narrower than the beach by the pier and best at low tide. Three minutes north at Wisconsin Avenue, Lifeguard Tower 7 has restrooms and showers where the Strand begins.
Grocery & liquor on the corner
Wisconsin Market & Spirits at the end of the block has groceries, beer, wine, liquor and ice, so there's no need to leave the neighborhood. Mike's Liquor & Market is about nine minutes away on Coast Highway.
Coffee & a bite
Eris Vegan Food Co. makes scratch-made pizzas, burgers and tacos a block up Wisconsin Avenue. Just across the tracks on Coast Highway, Plantology Cafe pours espresso about 10 minutes from the door.
Locals' spots on Coast Highway
Across the tracks on Coast Highway between West and Stanley streets: Diego's Mexican Food, Start Fresh Cafe for breakfast, and Real Surf Shop for boards and wax. Green Cheek Beer Co.'s brewery and kitchen is about 10 minutes away, a few blocks north on Coast Highway.
The Strand to the pier
Pick up the Strand at Wisconsin Avenue and follow it north past the lifeguard towers and Tyson Street Park's lawn and playground to the pier, the Top Gun House and downtown. Stay for dinner or the Thursday market, then walk home under the stars.
South Oceanside
Head south to little Buccaneer Beach (~15 min), with its grassy park, playground, showers and the year-round Buccaneer Café. Beyond it is South Oceanside's Coast Highway strip ("South O" to locals): Beach Break Café's surfer breakfasts, The Privateer's coal-fired pizza, Revolution Roasters' coffee and Sea Hive Marketplace's vintage finds.
Things to Do
Oceanside's surf, pier and harbor
Oceanside is a classic California beach town, with a historic pier, a busy harbor, year-round surf and a downtown full of restaurants, museums and markets.
Surf Oceanside
Consistent beach breaks up and down the coast, with board rentals and lessons near the pier. Every summer the World Surf League's Super Girl Surf Pro, billed as the world's largest all-women's surf festival, takes over the pier.
The Oceanside Pier
At 1,954 feet, one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast. The far end has been closed since an April 2024 fire, with repairs planned for 2027, but the rest is open. Fun fact: the city's first pier, built in 1888, stood at the foot of Wisconsin Avenue, at the end of this block.
The Top Gun House
Charlie's beach cottage from Top Gun (1986). The restored 1888 Graves House was moved a block north in 2020 and now stands in the Mission Pacific hotel's courtyard, steps from the pier. Today it's a gelato shop, so grab a scoop with your photo op.
California Surf Museum
The story of surfing told through legendary boards, including the one Bethany Hamilton was riding in 2003. The Oceanside Museum of Art is a few minutes' walk up Pier View Way.
Oceanside Harbor
A little New England-style harbor village with whale-watching and fishing charters, boat and kayak rentals, fish and chips on the docks and a calm harbor beach for small kids.
Mission San Luis Rey
The "King of the Missions," the largest of California's 21 Spanish missions. It was founded in 1798 and has a museum, gardens and the state's first pepper tree.

Downtown & the pier
Oceanside's downtown has arrived. Chef-driven restaurants, rooftop bars at the beachfront hotels and ocean-view steak and seafood at 333 Pacific are all within a few blocks of the pier.
Breweries & taprooms
Beyond Green Cheek, a short walk from the door, Craft Coast Beer & Tacos pours its own beer with Baja-style tacos a couple of blocks up Mission Avenue from the pier, and more tasting rooms dot downtown.
Farmers & Sunset Markets
Thursday is market day. The farmers market runs 9 am to 1 pm on Pier View Way. From 5 to 9 pm the Sunset Market takes over, with up to 240 food and craft booths across five downtown blocks and live music on the corners.
The big grocery run
Smart & Final Extra! is on Oceanside Boulevard, Walmart Neighborhood Market is on Mission Avenue, and Cream of the Crop's natural foods are in South Oceanside, all about five minutes by car. Trader Joe's is about 10 minutes away on Vista Way.
Surf shops & vintage
Surfwear and beach gear shops cluster around the pier, and South O's vintage and antique stores line Coast Highway farther south.
Carlsbad Village
One town south, with bistros, wine bars, gelato and State Street boutiques on walkable village blocks. Tamarack, one of the coast's friendliest surf breaks, is right there too.
Beach towns keep beach hours. Popular spots have lines at weekend brunch, and some kitchens close early on weeknights, so check hours before you head out.
Day Trips
Theme parks, wine country and the coast
Oceanside sits at the top of San Diego County's coast. Theme parks, wine country, La Jolla and downtown San Diego are an easy run down the freeway, and the train goes both ways along the coast.
LEGOLAND California
The brick-built theme park and SEA LIFE aquarium, plus a seasonal water park (spring through October). The Flower Fields bloom next door each spring, and Carlsbad Premium Outlets' 85-plus stores are just down the road.
Coast Highway 101
Ride or drive the coast route south through Carlsbad, Leucadia and Encinitas. It's classic Highway 101 cruising, with the ocean on your right heading south and taco stands and surf-town institutions all the way.
San Clemente & Trestles
Head north past Camp Pendleton to Trestles and San Onofre, two world-famous surf breaks, and to San Clemente's Spanish-village charm.
Del Mar
Races run at the seaside track from mid-July to Labor Day and again in November. Torrey Pines' clifftop trails are just beyond, and the polished village is good for lunch above the beach.
La Jolla
Sea lions at the Cove, snorkeling in the ecological reserve, kayak caves and clifftop window shopping on San Diego's jewel of a coastline.
San Diego
Balboa Park and the Zoo, the Gaslamp Quarter, the USS Midway and Petco Park. Or skip the freeway and ride the Coaster from Oceanside straight into downtown.
Temecula wine country
More than 40 wineries in the hills inland, with tastings, vineyard lunches and hot-air balloons over the vines at dawn.
Disneyland
The original happiest place on earth is about an hour and a quarter up I-5, longer in traffic. It's a big but doable day trip, with time to get home for a moonlit beach walk.
Airports & trains
San Diego International is about 36 miles south (45 min–1 h by car), John Wayne Airport about 50 miles north, and LAX about 90 miles (allow 2 hours or more). The Oceanside Transit Center, a 15-minute walk away, has Amtrak and Metrolink trains from Los Angeles, the Coaster to San Diego and the Sprinter inland.
The coastal rail line through San Clemente occasionally closes after big surf, so check pacificsurfliner.com (opens in a new tab) before you travel.
